ABOUT

NICS

I love feeling well, inside and out, but it has taken me many years to understand what wellness really looks like.

From running and athletics, to dancing and skiing, being active is who I am, so it was a great shock to lose my freedom of movement after an accident in 2016.

Whilst learning to live with a chronic pain condition, I returned to yoga as a form of rehabilitation. It was impact free and I felt able to do therapeutic exercise in the safe space of my mat. I could dictate the pace of my own recovery and slowly my muscles relearnt to respond to my brain’s instruction.

I discovered that the deeper I explored yoga in all its forms, the stronger my recovery became. I can honestly say it changed my life for me and those around me.

During my recovery, I became hooked on finding out more about the way we move and why. I was particularly interested in how secondary ailments come from lack of mobility, and how sometimes (through no fault of our own), we start to do less in our elder years, instead of more.

I gained my Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology (ITEC) and 200 Hour Whole Self Yoga Alliance Teacher Training with internationally renowned yogi Julie Montague. It was the first part of my journey to educate myself and have the confidence to pass on my knowledge and experience.

I would like to encourage and help others to reconnect with their mind and body and teach you to trust and listen to your inner voice. I want to offer a method of physical exercise that is accessible to everyone, what-ever age, whatever ability and to choose a lifestyle that incorporates positivity and kindness

We all have a responsibility to keep our bodies strong and agile through to old age, to serve ourselves our fullest life.
